Role Summary
We are excited to share that an exciting opportunity in the Operations Department has opened for internal employees! This area of work will be primarily based in the Sea to Sky and Sunshine Coast regions. The ideal candidate in this role is expected to be efficient and cross-trained in at least two areas of telecom fielding. Note: as this role is crucial to our Poles Team, it involves a significant amount of physical work with labor-intensive tasks.

Requirements:
- Physically able to perform an active job with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs;
- Physically able to hand dig holes around poles;
- Must become pesticide certified for handling pole treatment chemicals (training and certification materials to be provided by Encepta);
- Has a current Class 5 or equivalent driver’s license without major contraventions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and interpret outside and/or inside plant infrastructure data;
- Perform frequent analysis of data points, data comparison, and data clean-up, predominantly using Excel and GIS platforms;
- Perform site visits to collect measurements, observations, photos, and GPS capture of specified assets and/or utilities;
- Assist with coordination of work locations, schedules and completeness;
- Troubleshoot issues and perform quality assurance on data captured;
- Use GIS to add to, modify, or create web maps for use by other staff;
- Upload, edit, and analyze project data into databases shared with client;
- Assist with creating project deliverables (spreadsheets, maps, etc.) to send to clients;
- Walk-out to neighbourhoods or rural areas with mobile devices and/or survey tools to collect GPS and other data for telephone poles and/or civil structures and utilities;
- Communicate effectively with partners, contractors, and other external stakeholders and work collaboratively to mitigate issues;
- Maintain respectful behaviour while interacting with the public during data collection and site visits;
- Work effectively outside in all weather conditions;
- Communicate with team members working in adjacent neighbourhoods;
- Exercise subjective decision-making and problem-solving;
- Work alongside a team lead and coach to help progress you through the job;
- Teach other team members about Encepta processes and procedures;
- Research and develop new processes and technology;
- Uphold and promote adherence to Training, Operating and Health & Safety Procedures;
- Travel is required as projects progress throughout Western Canada;
- Other duties as required.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 1-3 years' relevant experience, ideally in Telecommunication Field;
- C.Tech, EIT Designation or Journeyman trades certification (not required, consideration for advancement to this position) or equivalent combination of experience and training;
- Understands and applies core concepts of Telecommunications Outside and/or Inside Plant Design;
- Experience working with Google Suite (Gmail, Google Meet, Google Sheets, Google Drive) or equivalent Microsoft apps;
- Able to work effectively on computer and smart devices such as tablets and smartphones on both Android and Apple platforms;
- Demonstrates a cross-functional ability to perform data collection and analysis in at least two Encepta fielding roles;
- Read and understand telecommunication network drawings;
- Ability to complete varied tasks independently;
- Proven experience in capturing and accurately verifying data and information;
- Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities;
- Strong communication and writing skills with the ability to clearly explain issues;
- Ability to work efficiently on time-sensitive projects with changing deliverables and priorities;
- Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to detail and quality assurance;
- Team player with well-developed interpersonal skills who is comfortable in a cross-functional, diverse team environment;
- Courteous and amiable customer service approach to the public;
- Can clearly communicate field observations back to designers/project leads;
- Comfortable walking and working in public and/or remote work environments;
