About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned leader in Product Management with expertise in event brokers and cloud technologies to define and implement our innovative cloud offerings. As the Director of Product Management, you will collaborate closely with customers (including at the CPO and CTO levels), and dynamic teams across engineering, product, and UX to create a state-of-the-art cloud offering. You will also work with sales and marketing teams to bring these offerings to market.

At Solace, our leaders are technically skilled, customer-focused, and excellent communicators. This role demands the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to gather detailed use cases and requirements and clearly translate these into actionable deliverables for Solace architects and developers. Then once built, you will work with our marketing and sales teams to take the product to market by helping define product messaging, product enablement content, and sales enablement. You will also evaluate proposed solutions to ensure they meet market and customer needs, taking a pragmatic approach to product direction while balancing technical requirements with business impact.

What you will do:

  • Lead and coach members of the Product Management team.
  • Define solutions, product specifications, pricing structures, and roll-out strategies.
  • Conduct market and customer research to support the development of product strategy.
  • Own the strategic product roadmap direction and communicate it effectively to stakeholders.
  • Help lead and scale product areas like platform deployments to meet enterprise and customer needs.
  • Design and analyze product packaging and pricing strategies to maximize revenue and adoption.
  • Create and articulate solution value propositions and key differentiators.
  • Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, including product messaging and marketing materials development.
  • Develop core product and solution value propositions, including target audiences, technical details, and business benefits.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and track industry trends.
  • Provide pre-sales support, including RFP/RFI responses.
  • Deliver on the operating plan, meeting growth objectives in market share, revenue, profit, and ROI.

About You

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, and/or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 10+ years in the IT or telecommunications sector, with experience in cloud, messaging middleware, and/or IoT.
  • 5+ years leading a product management team for enterprise products, with a strong background in cloud-related technologies.
  • Specific experience in the middleware, integration, APIM space very desirable.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of industry technology and market trends.
  • Strong understanding of leading cloud offerings (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and Kubernetes.
  • Strong communication, presentation, planning, organizational and persuasion skills.
  • Experience motivating and managing a high-performing team.
  • Proficiency in Agile software delivery methodologies.
  • Exceptional customer engagement and technical communication abilities.
  • Strong collaboration with technical teams to drive product vision.
