Overview:

The Junior User Interface Designer through May to August, will get the opportunity to design new and existing features for Solace's cloud-based software products. The role will have multiple responsibilities throughout the work term with a focus on visual design and user experience.

In This Role, You Will:

· Develop a style guide to be used across the product portfolio

· Design new features with consideration to both user and business needs

· Conduct user research and design thinking workshops to better understand the problem space

· (Optional) Build animation and graphics to incorporate into our product is an option for candidates with this skill set but not mandatory.

· (Optional) Building HTML and CSS web components is an option for candidates with this skill set but not mandatory. Learning these skills on the job is welcome for any interested candidate.

The Ideal Candidate Is:

· A self-motivated learner who goes above and beyond in their quest for learning new tools and technologies

· A team player who is able to collaborate with cross-functional teams, committed to agile methodology

· A good communicator who is able to communicate ideas in a clear and concise manner

Required Skills:

· Proficient in graphical design applications such as Sketch, Adobe Illustrator and Zeplin

· Experience creating designs for web-based applications

· A focus on delivering pixel-perfect visual designs in their projects

· Familiar with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React
