About the role:

TrueContext is looking for a Co-op student to help with our growing IT Help Desk needs from September to December (this will initially be a 4 month contract, with the possibility of extending to April). The ideal candidate is tech savvy, has a positive attitude, a great sense of humor, and loves helping people solve problems. This is a front-line help desk role supporting the IT needs of 100+ employees. This person will gain experience in many areas, including:

  • Prioritizing user technical support issues that are escalated from staff and ensure adequate vendor services are provided in a timely manner
  • Day-to-day installation, configuration, and support of various business systems, networks, and infrastructure
  • User account and asset management
  • Assisting in hardware/software maintenance as required; diagnose and repair defective hardware/software by replacing parts; and install hardware/software upgrades and new systems
  • Refine existing and develop new IT policies and procedures

Required Skills:

  • A strong sense of urgency and ability to assess and prioritize issues
  • Strong technical competency with Windows 10, MacOS, iOS, and Android operating systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Approachable with excellent communication skills

Additional Skills:

  • Previous experience in a help desk or customer service role
  • Understanding of O365 and Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience using helpdesk ticketing systems
  • Basic understanding of scripting
  • Knowledge of basic networking
